A universal material, vanilla is the fruit of the wild orchid. We wanted to return to this exotic fruit, to the black pod that one opens with delight for it to release its sensual sweetness. By moving away from the gourmand, very sugary vanilla, we restore this substance its ancestral depth. Its scent becomes unctuous and powerful, sensual yet never cloying. In Une Vanille, black vanilla from Madagascar is accompanied by tonka bean with its almond-like facets. A final touch that transmutes the original scent of this fruit, whose aroma alternates between sweetness and power, the obvious and the mysterious, at once so natural and supernatural.

MATERIAL FOCUS: VANILLA ABSOLUTE

An essential note in perfumery, vanilla oscillates between soft and creamy notes, woody and spicy, with facets of leather, caramel or tobacco. Our vanilla absolute is cultivated in the Sava region of Madagascar, the world capital of vanilla harvesting with its ancestral expertise.

In the early morning, from October to December, the "pollinators" identify vanilla flowers ready to be fertilised and delicately bring the pistil and stamen into contact. Following the harvest, it is processed and then extracted in workshops in Grasse. Due to its rarity and high demand, its price can approach 600 dollars per kilogram.
