On the island of Salina, made famous by the works of Lampedusa and Visconti, lies the small town of Malfa. These Aeolian islands, treasures for the happy few, fringed by sea spray and swept by the winds, are the inspiration for this fragrance.

Sicilian citrus leads the way, drawing you into the nave of the Church of San Lorenzo, where the scent of woodwork vies with the chill of thick walls dating back to 1733.

Incense rises towards the sky, carrying with it the prayers and hopes of a people devoted to life and freedom.

INGREDIENT FOCUS: FRANKINCENSE

Olibanum, also known as frankincense, is a resin with balsamic, woody and slightly spicy facets. It is harvested from the Boswellia tree, found primarily in regions such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Oman and India.

The process involves making small incisions in the bark of the tree, allowing a milky resin to flow out and harden into beads over the course of several weeks. These hardened resin beads are then collected by hand.
