Vanilla is a universal ingredient, the fruit of the wild orchid. We wanted to return to this exotic fruit, to this black pod that is happily opened to release its sensual sweetness. By moving away from the gourmet and very luscious vanilla, we restore its ancestral depth. Its scent is unctuous and powerful, sensual but not tacky. In Une Vanille, black Madagascar vanilla is accompanied by tonka bean with almond facets. A final touch that transmutes the original scent of this fruit whose aroma plays alternately between sweetness and power, evidence and mystery, so natural and supernatural at the same time.

A cornerstone of perfumery, vanilla moves between sweet, creamy, woody and spicy notes, with facets of leather, caramel and tobacco. Our vanilla absolute comes from Madagascar’s Sava region, the world’s centre of vanilla harvesting, where generations of expertise shape its cultivation.
Early in the morning, from October to December, the women known as “marieuses” identify vanilla flowers ready for pollination and gently bring the pistil and stamen into contact. After harvesting, the vanilla is processed and then extracted in workshops in Grasse. Due to its rarity and high demand, its price can approach $600 per kilo.
